Govt trying best to mitigate COVID-hit people's plight: PM
Primary Minister and Leader of the home Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday said her federal government is trying its best to mitigate the plight of the unattended people hit hard because of the outbreak of the coronavirus.

“You will find a huge population who remain out of your attention of the society in today's situation arising out of your coronavirus outbreak. But we’re trying our best to minimise their ordeal and sorrow by extending assist to them in a variety of ways,” she said.

The Leader of the House also reiterated that she'll continue steadily to do everything important in order that the people of the country don’t go through hardship due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

“We’ll fight the coronavirus in the way we tackled the super cyclone “Amphan”. Alongside we’ll continue steadily to do whatever important so that the life and livelihood of the people go on plus they don’t suffer as a result of coronavirus,” she added.

The prime minister was getting involved in a discussion on an obituary reference brought by Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the inaugural sitting of the eighth session of the 11th parliament.

The eighth session which can be the budget session of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) for the fiscal year (FY) 2020-’21 began this afternoon maintaining medical guidelines and social distancing because of the COVID-19 situation in the country.

At the outset of the day’s proceedings, the Loudspeaker brought the obituary reference on distinguished people who died since the 7th session of the 11th Jatiya Sangsad.

They included person in current parliament Habibur Rahman Mollah and nine former lawmakers, including Khandaker Asaduzzaman, Alhaj Maqbul Hossain, Mamtaz Begum in addition to eminent educationists National Professor Prof Dr Anisuzzaman, Professor Dr Jamilur Reza Chowdhury and Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Mian’s wife Anwara Rabbi and former chief whip Abul Hasnat Abdullah’s wife Shahan Ara Abdullah.

The prime minister said the daily wage earners and the ones who do little works and trades became jobless because of the COVID-19.

“But our federal government is reaching food to every person and managing some money funds for them by firmly taking their data. We’ve also provided assist with the orphanages and mosques … even we extended help those who painted behind the rickshaws by learning them,” she said.

Sheikh Hasina said every person knows the artists, but nobody considers those people who extend help the artists. “Therefore I’ve previously instructed the information minister and the ministry to assist these folks,” she said.

The prime minister said her younger sister Sheikh Rehana requested her to check out the matter, saying that why those that help the artists don’t get the assistance? “It’s the guidance of (Sheikh) Rehana to provide support to those that paint behind the rickshaws,” she said.

She also taken care of immediately the concern of the opposition chief whip about the safe practices of the prime minister as a result of coronavirus who requested the first choice of the Residence to become listed on parliament session virtually from Ganabhaban.

“I didn’t come to stay alive, I’ve come to create sacrifice my life for the persons of Bnagla. Consequently there is little or nothing to be panicked,” she said.

Sheikh Hasina said: “Gentleman is mortal. As I born, I’ve to die 1 day and it could happen because of corona, firing or bomb, sickness or while speaking. As death in unavoidable, there is little or nothing to receive scared. I had not been panicked (in the past) rather than get scared (in future).”

The prime minister said she returned residential (in 1981) when the killers of Bangabandhu and the war criminals were in power. “For the reason that situation I came back home. If I could have been scared, I might not exactly return house in my existence. But I didn’t dread,” she said.

The Leader of the home said that the Almighty gives some works to the people. “I’ve to accomplish the works that Allah possesses bestowed on me and I’ll continue that works before works aren't finished,” she said.

Sheikh Hasina the complete world found a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic which snatches a huge selection of lives every day.

“The quantity of recoveries in Bangladesh is more even though a panic prevails among the people,” she said.

The Head of the House said whatever the countries are strong economically and arms, no power now works. “It seems if you ask me that the coronavirus may be the strongest and the type is choosing revenge,” she said.

The prime minister once again thanked the physicians, nurses and health workers, administrative officials, members of the military and law enforcement agencies and her party leaders and staff for rendering services to the persons with utmost sincerity to contain the deadly disease.

Sheikh Hasina likewise elaborated her government’s procedures to deal with the cyclone Amphan and extended thanks all concerned to work sincerely in this regard.

The prime minister recalled the contributions of Habibur Rahman Mollah, MP, along with other former AL lawmakers to the party.

Sheikh Hasina also remembered contributions of Prof Anisuzzaman and Dr Jamilur Reza Chowdhury to the discipline of education and the country’s development.

The premier prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved families.
