Govt striving to start some sectors slowly: PM
Primary Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday (Might 10) said her federal government is relaxing the nationwide shutdown slowly but surely so that the persons may manage ‘their lives and livelihoods’ during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
She said: “We want to start some sectors slowly in order that the persons can manage their lives and livelihoods in the month of Ramadan.”
The premier built the remark joining a donation handing over ceremony through video conference from her official residence Ganabhaban here this morning.
PM’s Principal Secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus received the cheques for the donations with respect to the premier at the Prime Minister’s Business office (PMO) here.
Sheikh Hasina said many people, particularly the daily wage earners, have become jobless as a result of shutdown which includes put a great effect on the country’s economy.
She said: “We know the people 're going through an excellent hardship. So, we have been trying our better to provide everyone food to reduce plights.”
The relief items are being distributed among the needy persons on behalf of the federal government, the ruling Awami Group and the rich people aswell, the premier said.
Besides, the federal government has given particular focus on ensure food secureness to avert encounter the possible famine the universe will probably face as a result of coronavirus outbreak, she added.
