Govt might decide whether Khaleda would be sent abroad: AG
Taking the entire situation into account, the government must make a decision whether BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will get sent abroad for treatment or not, said Attorney General AM Amin Uddin upon Tuesday.

"The federal government suspended the jail punishment of Khaleda Zia based on the Criminal Procedure (CrPC) 401. The federal government may come to courtroom in this regard [for mailing Khaleda Zia abroad for treatment]. However, I can't say fine detail in this regard without examining the relevant law," he said.

The Attorney General further said the government itself would take decision taking everything into account like what kind of treatment she needs and whether it could be possible to supply that treatment keeping her in the united states.

However, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal in Tuesday said the problem of allowing BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to move abroad for treatment was under the jurisdiction of court. Courtroom would decide whether she'd be able to move abroad for treatment. The federal government has nothing to accomplish here.

Earlier, BNP Secretary Standard Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir sought blessings of the countrymen for Khaleda Zia, saying that there was nothing to worry about the condition of her health.

Khaleda Zia was shifted to the Coronary Health care Product (CCU) from cabin at Evercare Hospital in the administrative centre on Monday afternoon after she had suddenly felt shortness of breath.
