Four JS standing committees formed
The Jatiya Sangsad (JS) on Tuesday formed its four parliamentary standing committees on various ministries.  

With Leader of the House and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s approval, Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury proposed the names of the committees according to the Article 76 of the constitution and Rules of Procedure, BSS reports.

The House with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair, unanimously adopted the proposals.

The parliamentary standing committees are on the ministries on Education, Environment Forest and Climate Change, Liberation War Affairs and Shipping.  Afsarul Amin was elected chairman of the Standing Committee on Ministry of Education. Other committee members are: the minister-in-charge, Abdul Quddus, AKM Shahjahan Kamal, Fazle Hossain Badsha, Abdus Sobhan Mia, MA Matin, Golam Kibria Tipu and Mahi Badruddoza Chowdhury.

The Standing Committee on Environment Forest and Climate Change: Chairman Saber Hossain CHowdhury, members- minister in-charge of the ministry, Anower Hossain, Mojammel Hossain, Dipankor Talukder, Najim Uddin Ahmed, Zafor Alam and Rezaul Karim Bablu.

Shajahan Khan was elected the chairman of the JS standing committee on the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs while members are: concerned minister, Abul Hasnat Abdullah, Amin Uddin Khan Badal, Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju, Major (retd) Rafiqul Islam Bir Uttam, ABM Tajul Islam, Kazi Feroz Rashid, AKM Rahmatullah and Waresat Hossain Belal.

The Standing Committee on Shipping Ministry was constituted with Major (retd) Rafiqul Islam Bir Uttam as the chairman. Committee members are: minister-in-charge, Shajahan Khan, Majharul Haque Prodhan, Ranjit Kumar Roy, Mahfuzur Rahman, M A Abdul Latif, Dr Shameem Uddin Ahmed Shimul, Aslam Hossain and SM Shahjada.
