First return hajj flight coming on Saturday night
The first return hajj flight of this year is set to arrive at Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday (August 17).
The aircraft carrying the pilgrims is scheduled to land at the airport at 8:40 pm, said Biman’s general manager (Public Relations) Tahera Khnadaker.
A total of 1, 27,198 Bangladeshi citizens registered to perform the annual ritual this year-2019.
Hajj flight to Saudi Arabia began on July 4 and continued until August 5. Return flights start on August 17 and will continue til September 15.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines will carry 63,599 Hajj pilgrims, while Saudi Arabian Airlines the rest.
According to ministry of Religious Affairs, 72 hajj pilgrims died till August 14. Of them, 65 died in Mecca, 6 in Medina and 1 in Jeddah. 63 deceased pilgrims were men and 9 were women.
