FF’s sons block Shahbagh for 30% quota in govt jobs
Bangladesh Muktijoddha Santan Sangsad, a platform of the descendants of the Freedom Fighters, in Tuesday blocked capital’s Shahbagh intersection for nearly six time to press home their seven-point demand including restoration of thirty percent quota in government jobs.
The blockade continued till 6 pm before police dispersed them by using water cannon on the protesters .
Previously, leaders and activists of the organisation from across the country converged in front of the National Museum around 10:00am today. Later, they transferred to Shahbagh intersection and began sit-in programme around 12:00pm.
Addressing the protest rally, Vice President of the program Mizanur Rahman demanded of the federal government to restore 30 per cent quota in every government jobs.
“We will continue our protest until our seven-point demands are met,” he added.
Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sontan Sangsad founding president Soleman Miya, Vice President Sojib Serker, Mijanur Rahman, Yeasin Akand and Toslim reza, Organizing Secretary Nazmul Huda and Titumir joined up with the protest meeting.
