'Fagun Haway' bags two awards
Tauquir Ahmed's language movement film 'Fagun Haway' bagged two awards at the ninth edition of SAARC Film Festival which ended on Sunday in Colombo, Sri Lanka. 

The film won awards in Best Cinematography and Best Sound Design categories. 'Fagun Haway' charts and delineates the language movement of 1952. To show the movement, the film does not focus on Dhaka, the centre of the movement, but shows how people of a small town, Khulna, engaged themselves in the movement.

Five local films participated in the festival. They are Nasiruddin Yousuff's Alpha, Tauquir Ahmed's Fagun Haway, Noor Imran Mithu's 'Kamola Rocket', Noman Robin's 'Quarter Mile Country' and Chitali Samaddar and Saiful Akbar Khan's 'See You'.

Among the films, National Film Award-winning Alpha was screened in Master Films Section, while 'Fagun Haway' and 'Kamola Rocket' were screened in the Competition Section.'Quarter Mile Country' and 'See You' were screened in Short Film Section.SAARC Film Festival, which promotes films produced in the SAARC countries, featured five films from each of the eight SAARC countries.
