'Extraction 2' will get emotionally, physically bigger than first film
Joe Russo, co-maker and author of Netflix's 'Extraction', has provided an update about the film's follow-up. 'Extraction', starring Chris Hemsworth, broke viewership information for the streaming service upon its let go in April. Russo, who co-produced the actions film along with his brother Anthony, told CinemaBlend, "I started publishing the sequel (prequel?) three weeks ago. It's an excellent character to create for, with a fantastic performance from Hemsworth. So that it makes my task easier. I think the mission is usually to up the level on this a person, both emotionally and actually."

The first film featured Hemsworth's mercenary Tyler Rake, on a objective to rescue the kidnapped son of an Indian crime lord. Netflix quickly greenlit a sequel, following film's success. Russo spoke to Collider about how the discussions about the follow-up went. "I believe there have been preliminary conversations ahead of release. Everyone was happy with the movie and very excited about it. There is good energy entering the release.

And certainly the launching cemented it. But yeah, it turned out a conversation that's been heading on for just a little over per month," he said. After the release of the film, Hemsworth in a recorded message for enthusiasts had said, "There's been a lot of chat and questions about sequels and prequels and all kinds of things, and all I could say is who recognizes." He added, "But with this volume of support, it's something I am pretty stoked to hop back into."
