Dubai is named third most Instagrammable place in the world for 2020
We already knew it, but now the world knows it, too: Dubai is one of the most visually appealing places on the planet.
A study conducted by global travel website, Big 7 Travel, has proved just that. It analysed hashtags on social media of a range of destinations, used audience survey results and votes cast by Big 7 Travel’s team to come up with a list of 50 of the world's most Instagrammable places – and Dubai came third. The emirate scored higher than New York City, US and London, England, but fell just behind Hong Kong and Sydney, Australia, which came in at number one.
“The high-flying city of the UAE, Dubai is one of the most glamorous destinations you’ll ever visit,” wrote the Big 7 Travel team. “Burj Khalifa, an 830m-tall tower, dominates the skyscraper-filled skyline while traditional souks provide colourful photo opportunities.
“Your Insta feed will be full of rooftop lounges, luxury hotels and sunset sand buggying in the desert.”
These are the top 10 Instagrammable cities:
1. Sydney, Australia
2. Hong Kong, China
3. Dubai, UAE
4. New York City, US
5. Singapore
6. Tokyo, Japan
7. Lisbon, Portugal
8. Bali, Indonesia
9. London, UK
10. Jaipur, India
Other destinations in the wider region that made the top 50 list include Petra, Jordan; Istanbul, Turkey; Rabat, Morocco; and Cairo, Egypt. Palawan in the Philippines came in at number 36.
In another post about Dubai, the Big 7 Travel team named the city’s 10 most Instagrammable locations. This included Miracle Gardens, Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, Burj Khalifa, Madinat Jumeirah and the Burj Al Arab.
