‘Drug addict’ killed in city for changing partner
An addict allegedly slaughtered a young woman at Bangshal of Old Dhaka early Monday reportedly for discarding him as the drug-taking partner.

The deceased was identified as Rani, 25, reports UNB.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Mitford Hospital morgue for autopsy, said Sahidur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Bangshal Police Station.

Soon after the incident, police arrested the killer, Sohagh, 23, when he confessed to the killing, the OC said.

He said Sohagh used to take drugs together with Rani. However, Rani left him recently and started taking drugs with another partner.

They locked into an altercation in the early hours over the issue. At one stage, Sohagh slit the throat of Rani with a blade, leaving her dead on the spot.
