2 hermaphrodites among 3 receive bullets in attack
Two hermaphrodites and their car driver received bullet wounds in an armed attack in broad daylight at Ashulia in Savar, on the outskirts of capital Dhaka on Monday.
Injured Guru Ma Abdul alias Shikha Hizra,30, Boro Ma Rashid Hizra,40, car driver Nurunnabi,28, were admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.
Eye witness Ankhi Hizra told media that a white private car dashed their car when she alongwith four others were heading towards Tongi at about 10:30am.
"The white car, later, intercepted our car in Turag area on the Baipail-Abdullahpur road. Some miscreants got drown from the car and sprayed bullets on us. I was in the back seat and ducked my head to save myself," said Ankhi.
Another passenger Mishti Hizra said they came under attack while going to Tongi from Jamgara in Ashulia to attend a meeting.
Enam Medical College Hospital's OT in-charge Nasir Uddin said three bullet-hit people were admitted to the hospital.
Of them, Shikha received bullet on abdomen and chest, Rashida on armpit and Nurunnabi received a bullet on left hand and two on abdomen.
Ashulia police inspector Javed Masud said the attack might have been taken place following previous enmity.
