Drama is reflection of society: Theater personalities
Theatre personalities at concluding function of a week-long drama production-based workshop here last night said drama is the reflection of the society, reports BSS.

They put special emphasis on creating social renaissance to flourish healthy culture against terrorism, militancy, corruption, child marriage and other social curses through producing and staging more dramas in line with the spirit of War of Liberation.

They made the observation at the concluding function of the drama production-based workshop organized by 'Podatik Nattya Sangshad, Rangpur (PNSR) at the Town Hall auditorium in the city.

Forty learner drama producers from across the district participated in the week-long workshop that concluded with a certificate giving ceremony followed by staging a drama on the same venue.

Presided over by Convener of PNSR and noted drama producer Dipankar Bhattacharya Dipon, renowned drama personality Anwar Hossain attended and addressed the concluding function as the chief guest.

Noted drama personalities Biplob Prasad and Monwar Hossain, former General Secretary of District Shilpokola Academy Tauhidur Rahman Tutul and Organizing Secretary of divisional unit of Bangladesh Group Theater Federation Razzaque  Murad spoke.

The speakers discussed importance of writing, producing and staging time- befitting dramas to create a renaissance and inspire common people in resisting social odds like militancy, terrorism and communalism to establish peace and accelerate development.

Biplob Prasad stressed on enriching Bengali culture through strengthening cultural movement, producing more drama artistes and popularizing stage and street dramas to establish the non-communal spirit for building a peaceful Bangladesh.

The chief guest urged the participants to produce dramas for informing young generations about the true national history to aware them of severity of militancy, terrorism, anarchy and fundamentalism through establishing spirit of the War of Liberation.

"Drama is the hymn of changing society," he said reminding the drama producers that they should produce drama to build a healthier and more civilized nation reflecting and glorifying its emotion, feeling, cultural identity and lifestyle.
