"DIKANDA" shakes Dhaka with emotional performance
"DIKANDA", a music band of international renown, hailing from Poland introduced the audience with extremely emotional and authentic performance.The high profile polish band performed after the formal inaugural ceremony of Dhaka International Folk Fest on Thursday.

Audience were seen enjoying their diversity of musical performance with due attention though language is different.Every members of the band were playing their instruments from the heart for listeners and trying to gain the attention their dancing.

They could also connect themselves with the unknown audience successfully through their ethnic songs and rhythmic body movement and clinched the huge clap of the audience.Team leader of the band Ania Witczak played accordion in the packed audience platform alongside the singing.

She said in her short speech in Bengali "I love you Bangladesh." she added "What I tell you in your language is really true."The other band members are- Dominik Bie?czycki , Daniel Kaczmarczyk , and Piotr Rejdak ( guitars), Grzegorz Kolbrecki (bass),Kasia Bogusz (singing), Szymon Bobrowski ( trumpet)

They come from Szczecin, Poland. In their artistic work "DIKANDA" promotes the authenticity of style - searching for new trends therefore most of their works are original compositions.

They draw their musical inspiration from traditional folk sounds of the broadly defined Orient - from the Balkans, through Israel, Kurdistan, Belarus to India.

Their works are dominated by the Balkan and Gypsy influences. The band has been playing since 1997 and has recorded 7 albums so far, including a Live DVD recorded in the Witkacy Theatre in Zakopane.
