Dhallywood actress Pori Moni detained from Banani residence
In the latest development of celebrity saga, film actress Pori Moni, whose allegation of rape attempt on her by businessman Nasir U Mahmud and others prompted firestorm in the social media barely two months back, has now been detained from her home.

Members of Rab (Rapid Action Battalion) detained Pori Moni from her Banani residence on Wednesday evening.

The intelligence unit of Rab, led by Lt Col Khairul Islam, started a drive at her residence around 4 pm and detained her after three hours of search, RAB officials told UNB.

Pori Moni has been detained and taken to the Rab headquarters, assistant director of Rab (media wing) Imran Khan told UNB.

A huge quantity of liquor was seized from her house, Rab sources said.

When the Rab team was trying to enter her flat, Moni went live on Facebook seeking help from the local administration and Banani police station after Rab men in plainclothes reached her home.

The actress alleged that an unidentified group of people entered her building and were knocking on the door of her flat.

Her FB live continued for half an hour till the Rab personnel entered her home and requested the actress to go offline.

The popular actress recently hit headlines after she filed an attempt of rape and murder case against six people, including the former president of Uttara Club Limited Nasir U Mahmud, with Savar Police Station.

Pori Moni, in her verified Facebook page, uploaded a status-seeking justice from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, claiming that the six people attempted to rape and kill her on June 9 at Uttara Boating Club.

Later, Nasir and Tuhin Siddiqui Omi were arrested along with three others from a house in Uttara on June 14, even though they denied all those allegations.

However, the duo secured bail on June 29, and Nasir charged the actress with committing misconduct and acts of defamation.

“A heavily drunk Pori Moni entered our club on the night of the incident along with a few other men and gulped one and a half bottles of alcohol in quick time,” Nasir wrote in a Facebook post on June 5.

“Later, she raided our shelves and tried snatching a costly bottle of drink. When our waiters resisted, she started throwing our utensils and used abusive and vulgar language against them,” he mentioned.
