Dhaka jail's guard tests positive for coronavirus
A prison guard of Dhaka Central Jail tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday, forcing the authorities concerned to send his three roommates on quarantine.
Contacted, Jailer Mahbub Islam told UNB that prison guard Yasin has been moving into a mess-house inside old Dhaka Central Jail. From there, he used to execute duty at different hospitals, reports UNB.
As Yasin has been experiencing cold and cough since Sunday last, he underwent test for coronavirus on Tuesday where he was found positives for coronavirus, Mahbub said.
Later, he was taken up to 20-bed Jinjira Hospital and his three roommates were sent on quarantine, he said.
Replying to a query, the jailer said Yasin was not working at the Dhaka Central Jail. “He could have been infected with coronavirus while performing duties at hospitals," he said.
