Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) retained the services of Jamie Day as head coach of the national team for the next two years.

The 40-year-old British national signed the contract online yesterday, just over per month after his previous contract expired on, may 15.

However, the two-year contract with Jamie should come into the effect 8 weeks later, from August 14, simply because BFF wishes Jamie to resume do the job from the center of August following coronavirus pandemic that forced FIFA and AFC to suspend its Globe Cup and Asian Cup qualifiers campaigns, as well as club competitions as the various football associations as well halted their domestic competitions.

"I only want to confirm I have agreed to a new two-year package as the top coach and am really pumped up about working with BFF again. I am obviously worked up about getting again and dealing with the national team players," Jamie stated in a video message directed by the BFF yesterday.

"I am now seeking to developing and progressing additional as a national team. We have four tough games [of Globe Cup and Asian Cup Qualifiers] in October and November but kinds we are actually looking forward to, and I cannot wait to reunite with the boys in the camp and have them fit and all set for the games," added Jamie, who has been around charge of the boys in red and green going back two years on the basis of one-year contracts.

Ahead of the World Cup Qualifiers, Jamie needs to get started on the national camp from August 22. "It's an exciting year. I'm excited with delight now that we have decided to a new package and now hopefully we can receive ball rolling to find the players again [into football] and also have an extremely good year with results," said Jamie.

"We have signed a contract with Jamie on a good virtual [program] and the deal remains almost exactly like last year's contract, but the vacations possess been reduced in the brand new 1," explained BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag , adding that the national teams committee will sit today to go over the different issues.
