Govt to intensify army patrol in coronavirus red zones
The government has made a decision to intensify army patrols in debt zones in a bid to support the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19).

Members of the army are patrolling the East Rajabazar spot of Dhaka which was place under experimental lockdown because of high coronavirus infection fee.

The Inter-Services PR Directorate, in a statement, said, “Troops will increase patrols in debt zones based on the government order.” 

The national committee for tackling the coronavirus outbreak has determined 45 areas in Dhaka as red zones. It will take some more period to enforce lockdowns in those areas after completing all preparations, according to the authorities.

The cabinet division on Monday announced a general holiday for 15 times from June 16 in the areas marked as red area.

The 17 areas marked as red zone in Dhaka North metropolis are - Badda, Cantonment, Mohakhali, Tejgaon, Rampura, Aftabnagar, Banasri, Mohammadpur, Kalyanpur, Maghbazar, Airport, Rajabazar, Uttara, Mirpur, Gulshan-1, and Gulshan-2. 28 areas marked as red zones in Dhaka South city happen to be - Jatrabari, Demra, Mugda, Genderia, Lalbagh, Azimpur, Dhanmondi, Jigatola, Basabo, Shantinagar, Paltan, Ramna, Sutrapur, Malibagh, Katwali, Tikatuli, Mitford, Kalabagan, Shahjahanpur, Matijheel, Wari, Khilgaon, Paribagh, Kadamtali, Shiddheswari, Lakshmibazar, Elephant Road and Segunbagicha.

Eleven areas,  discovered in Chattogram just as red zones, are - Chattogram port ward 38, Patenga ward 39 (part), Chattogram port ward 39 (part), Pahartali ward 10, Kotwali ward 16, Khulshi ward 14, Kotwali ward 20, Kotwali ward 21, Halishahar ward 26, Chattogram port ward 37 and Kotwali ward 22. 

Meanwhile, Bangladesh reported total 87,520 cases of coronavirus infections by Monday. Of these, 1,171 persons died and 18,730 patients have recovered.
