Crops on 22,836 hectares damaged by ‘Bulbul’
Severe cyclonic storm 'Bulbul' that lashed the country on Sunday, caused damaged to the standing crops on a total of 22,836 hectares, worth Tk 263 crore.
Agriculture Minister Mohammad Abdur Razzaque gave the estimate of the damage at a briefing at his Secretariat office on Tuesday.
“Cyclone Bulbul hit the coastal districts during the period of November 8-10. Aman paddy, vegetables, pulse, mustard and betel leaf of 16 districts were damaged by the storm. Crops on 22,836 hectares, out of 2,89,006 heactares, were destroyed,” said the minister.
