Couple among 3 burnt in Mirpur fire
Three people, including a couple, suffered burn injuries in a fire that broke out at a house in Dhaka's Mirpur area early Wednesday.
Injured Mohammad Hannan, 35, with 27 per cent burn injuries, his wife Asia Begum, with eight per cent, and their tenant Ujjal, 30, with 32 per cent burn injuries were admitted to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical college Hospital, said DMCH police outpost inspector Bachchu Miah confirmed.
Witnesses Farida said the fire originated from an electric short circuit when Hannan switched on the fan of their room around 3am and it soon spread the other room, leaving the three wounded.
