Councilor Khorshed now tests coronavirus positive
Ward councilor Maksudul Alam Khandaker Khorshed, who has helped complete the funerals of several Covid-19 victims, has now tested positive for the virus.
The councilor of Ward 13 in Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) has been diagnosed with coronavirus on Saturday (May 30).
His wife is undergoing treatment in isolation after being identified as having coronavirus earlier.
Khorshed told Banglanews that by Friday, he helped bury of 61 persons who had succumbed to the virus or with similar symptoms.
“As I've now tested positive for the condition, I will undergo treatment in the home isolation,” he said.
"Even easily am infected, all my activities will continue. My team will stay active and in addition my phone. I will not move away from the fight against coronavirus so long as I am alive,” Khorshed added.
When families and relatives are scared to go near to the body of the dead, councilor Khorshed has arranged for all measures to execute the last rites of anyone dying from Covid-19, regardless of their religion.
