It had been disclosed by Director Standard (DG) of Directorate Basic of Health Companies Dr Abul Kalam Azad along Friday.

"Chinese government may operate the next phase human trial of a practical coronavirus vaccine tin Bangladesh," he said.

The DG was speaking at a virtual conference with the members of Bangladesh Health and wellbeing Reporters Forum Friday morning, reports BSS.

"Bangladesh may also manufacture the vaccine following the consequence of the trial," he added.

Professor Azad said, "Earlier, the virus could infect two folks from one person but the 'reproduction rate or RO of the virus has got reduced in our country, the R fee is currently 1.05, that is a very good sign."

A reproduction rate of significantly less than 1 signifies that an outbreak is subsiding, since each contaminated person is transmitting the virus to less than one other person.

An RO rate above 1 means the virus is spreading exponentially, with each contagious person infecting more than one different person. An RO greater than 1 is as well a sign that hospitals and health care systems are susceptible to becoming overwhelmed.

During the fast-spreading initial outbreak of the coronavirus in Wuhan, China, the reproduction rate was approximated at about 2.5, according to a World Health Organization analysis.

"Our main goal is currently to reduce the number of infected patients and death costs," he further said.
