Case, counter-case lodged over Cumilla 5 killings
A case and another counter-case were filed on Thursday over the brutal murder of four people by a man who was subsequently killed in a mob beating in Debidwar uapzila of Cumilla on Wednesday. 

The cases were filed with Debidwar Police Station, said officer-in-charge (OC) Zahirul Islam.

Earlier on Wednesday, four people-- Anwara Begum, 45, wife of Md Shah Alam, and her son Abu Hanif, 12, of Radhanagar village, Nazma Akter,36, wife of Nurul Islam, and her mother-in-law Majeda Begum, 55-- were killed in a knife attack allegedly by
Mokhlesur Rahman, 35, a rickshaw puller, at Radhanagar in the upazila. Soon after the incident, attacker Mokhlesur was beaten to death by local people.

Rubel Hossain, brother of deceased Najma Begum, filed a case against Mokhlesur for killing four people including a child while Mokhlesur's wife Rabeya Khatun filed another case against 1500 unnamed people for killing her husband.
