Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) is ready to approve whatever the amount of flights will require to hold the stranded expatriate Bangladeshis to Saudi Arabia.

"We're ready to approve whatever the amount of flights Saudi Airlines requires for the go back of stranded Bangladeshi expatriates to Saudi Arabia," stated CAAB Chairman Air Vice Marshall Mohammad Mofidur Rahman while speaking at a public hearing at Hazrat Shahjalal AIRPORT TERMINAL in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Mofidur Rahman said, “Saudi Arabian Airlines sought acceptance of the CAAB fourteen days ago, and we gave acceptance on condition that the Bangladesh airlines should be able to operate flights compared to that country. We've learnt that only anyone who has valid Iqamas (do the job permits) will be allowed to enter Saudi Arabia. None should be able to go there on visit visas or Umrah visas. We've as well learnt that Bangladesh Biman has also been given approval of working chartered flights just, not commercial flights."

"Because the Bangladesh Biman had not been given approval, many demanded of cancelling authorization of operating flights by Saudi Arabian Airlines. But, the CAAB didn't cancel authorization for functioning flights by Saudi Arabian Airlines. We mentioned how Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Saudi Arabian Airlines can operate flights effortlessly to ensure the departure of the Bangladeshi expatriates to Saudi Arabia," he said.

The CAAB chairman said, "We're trying so that the Biman Bangladesh Airlines can operate commercial lighting to Saudi Arabia. We've learnt from Biman that it's yet to receive permission to use flights to Saudi Arabia. We'll expand all-out cooperation. We've talked to your ambassador to Saudi Arabia."

Asked about charging high fares from Saudi Arabia-bound travellers, Mofidur Rahman explained there are a few local agencies that have brought up the fares blocking the tickets. They are trying to do injury to our expatriate Bangladeshis. We'll look for them out with the aid of our law enforcing agencies.
