27 Bangladeshis die of coronavirus infection in Saudi Arabia
As much as 27 Bangladesh nationals have died in Saudi Arabia being infected with deadly coronavirus, said Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Golam Masih.

However, he cannot say anything about how exactly many expatriate Bangladeshi have been infected with coronavirus up to now.

Ambassador Golam Masih said the Saudi authorities didn't tell them just how many Bangladesh nationals were infected with coronavirus in the country.

He said the burial of Bangladesh nationals who died of coronavirus infection is not completed yet. However, they might be buried on the soil of Saudi Arabia, since it isn't possible to send the dead bodies to Bangladesh in today's context.

Besides, he said the Saudi authorities usually bury the dead bodies "properly."

The first Bangladesh national died in Saudi Arabia from coronavirus infection on March 24 last. The Medina Al Jahara Hospital authorities confirmed the Bangladesh consulate in Jeddah on March 30.

In line with the worldometer, 11,631 persons have so far been infected with coronavirus in Saudi Arabia. Of them, 109 died and 1,640 were recovered.
