Bus-microbus collision claims 10 lives in Munshiganj
A collision between a bus and a microbus claimed ten lives in Sreenagar upazila of Munshiganj.
The accident happened Shologhor area of the upazila at around 2: 15 pm on Friday (November 22).
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Asaduzzaman confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
The Dhaka-bound microbus carrying a bridal party met with the accident on Dhaka-Mawa highway. Ten others were also injured.
Out of the 10 deceased, 6 got killed on the spot, 2 breathed their last at Shologhor Health Complex and 2 at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The driver of the microbus also got killed, Jayedul Alam, Superintend of Police (SP), said.
Hedayetul Islam Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge of Sreenagar Police Station, said 8 bodies were kept at Sreenagar Upazila Health Complex while 2 at DMCH. It could not be confirmed yet how many passengers were on the microbus.
Md. Abdul Based, police outpost in-charge of Hassra Highway Police Station, said the accident happened after a bus of Swadhin Paribahan had fallen over the microbus. All passengers of the microbus were relatives. Among the deceased were children too.
