3 electrocuted in Rajbari
Three persons including a woman and her grandson were electrocuted to death in Pangsha upazila of the district on Monday (October 28).
The accident happened at East Balia village under Joshai union of upazila at around 3 pm.
The deceased were- Jahanara Begum, 45, wife of Alam Sheikh of the village, his grandson Mithila, 9 and neighbor's daughter, Sheuli, 11.
The three of them were bathing in pond water. At that time, a man was cutting a tree on bank of the pond. The tree fell over an electric wire whereupon it tore off and one portion of the wire fell into the pond, killing three of them on the spot, a neighbor, who goes by the name of Shamim Sheikh, told Banglanews.
