BNP leader Tariqul's 1st janaza held
The first namaz-e-janaza for BNP Standing Committee member Tariqul Islam was held in front of the party's Naya Paltan central office in Dhaka on Monday morning.
The funeral prayer was held around 10am where BNP's leaders and activists were present.
Earlier on Sunday, the former minister breathed his last at the Apollo Hospitals at about 5pm.
Tariqul had long been suffering from various ailments including heart and kidney diseases. He was admitted to the hospital on October 13.
He will be buried at his home district Jashore.
