BNP leader Tariqul seriously sick, hospitalised
BNP standing committee member Tariqul Islam has been admitted to a city hospital as fell sick seriously.
"My father [Tariqul] was admitted to Apollo Hospital on Saturday and kept in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital," his son Aninda Islam Amit told UNB on Sunday.
Mentioning that Tariqul has been suffering from heart, kidney diseases, diabetic and old-age complications, he urged all to pry for the early recovery of his father.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir visited Tariqul, a former minister, on Saturday after he was taken to the hospital, UNB reports.
Meanwhile, BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi at a press conference today regretted that though Tariqul remained bedridden for a long-time, various 'fictitious' cases were filed against him with Paltan, Khilgaon and Motijheel police stations.
