Expelling BDB top leaders ridiculous, says Mahi
Mahi B Chowdhury, joint secretary general of Bikolpo Dhara Bangladesh (BDB), termed 'ridiculous' reliving their party's top leaders by those who were expelled from the party a month back.
Speaking at a press conference at his Baridhara residence on Friday, he also said a major political party might have a hand behind the incident, reports UNB.
"Those who have expelled Bikolpo Dhara president and general secretary were expelled from the party a month ago. They're none to Bikolpo Dhara. So, forming a party in the name of Bikolpo Dhara is ridiculous and disgusting," Mahi said.
He said expelled BDB leader Advocate Shah Alam Badal, who announced himself as the general secretary of the party, is an employee of BNP leader Abdul Awal Mintoo. "It'll be very regrettable if the conspiracy is hatched from there."
Mahi said their party has no objection to forging a unity with BNP if it leaves the anti-liberation forces and accepts their proposal for ensuring the politics of balance.
Earlier in the morning, a group of BDB dissident leaders announced a new committee of the party relieving its president AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury, secretary general Abdul Mannan and joint secretary general Mahi B Chowdhury from their posts.
Advocate Shah Alam Badal, who was expelled from BDB on October 13 over joining Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikyafront's programme, came up with the announcement while talking to reporters in front of the Jatiya Press Club.
