BFDC employees block road for 1hr
The fellows of BFDC floor in-charge Abu Bakr Siddiq, who was found dead under police custody hours after his arrest, blocked a road in front of it for an hour on Monday.
They staged demonstration on the of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation from 11am to 12noon protesting the death of Abu Bakr.
Following the demonstration, vehicular movement from Hatirjheel to Karwan Bazar remained halted.
Agitating BFDC officials and staff said Abu Bakr had received a letter for performing the role of presiding officer during the upcoming city corporations polls.
According to their information, Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station team detained Aby Bakr on the way while returning home from his work place on Saturday evening. He was shown arrested following a case filed under Digital Security Act by Roksana Akter Maya. He fell ill in jail at night in police torture.
Bakr was declared dead at Dhaka Medical College Hospital when the Police Station inspector Iftekher Islam took him there.
The victim's family alleged that there were injury marks on his neck and body.
