Bar 122 PLFSL bank loan defaulters from leaving country: High Court
The High Court on Mon imposed restriction on 122 loan defaulters of People's Leasing and Financial Products and services Ltd (PLFSL) from departing the country.
 
The court also directed laws enforcers to provide all necessary assistance to the state liquidator of PLFSL to find out the defaulters. The way came in the full text of an buy of HC bench of Justice Muhammad Khurshid Alam Sarkar that premiered on Monday.
 
On July 14, 2019, Bangladesh Lender filed a petition looking for its permission to liquidate PLFSL since it failed to pay its account holders as the HC directed to take steps to liquidate PLFSL.
 
Last year on November, HC sought a set of load receivers of PLFSL, later a set of 500 people was submitted to HC.
 
Show-reason notices were dished up against 280 loan receivers among them on January 21. These were as well summoned by the courtroom because they owed People’s Leasing roughly Tk 1,655 crore until June 30 last year.
 
Of them, 158 mortgage loan defaulters appeared before the courtroom on February 23 and 25. The High Court soon after imposed restriction on 122 bank loan defaulters from leaving the country.
 
They were not bought at the addresses provided to the People’s Leasing. Regulations enforcement offers been asked to greatly help find them using their national identity cards.
