Bangladeshis in Middle Eastern not to lose jobs for late return: Minister
Bangladeshi nationals, employed in Middle Eastern (Me personally) countries and today on vacation in the home, won't lose their jobs for late joining to their respective task stations beneath the current circumstances, says the government.
The governments in the ME countries will either extend their keep or visa validity, said State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam, reports UNB.
"They (Bangladesh nationals) won't be terminated (for the later joining)," he said giving an answer to queries from the Bangladeshi nationals who function in the Me personally countries.
The state minister said missions of the ME countries in Dhaka and Bangladesh missions in the ME countries contain confirmed the job-related issues through foreign ministries of these countries.
Some Bangladesh nationals from the Me personally countries found Bangladesh on vacation but could not go back to their respective workplaces following a suspension of flight operation or lockdown though their vacation period got over officially.
Meanwhile, Kuwait really wants to send again Bangladeshi nationals who already are in deportation centre or convicted in the initially phase, the official at Bangladesh Embassy now there told UNB on Fri night.
Asked whether the initial batch returns home about Saturday (today), the state, however, said he's not aware of it.
On Thursday, Kuwait's Ministry of Interior announced initiatives to begin extradition process of "illegal citizens", comprising Bangladesh and Indian nationals.
The "deportation" procedure for Bangladeshi expatriates is scheduled to begin on Saturday, according to Kuwait national media.
The methods are taken without imposing any fines on them and they can return to Kuwait later on following due process.
On Sunday, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen explained 4-5 countries, like the Maldives, reach out Bangladesh to bring back its undocumented nationals from their respective countries.
He said the federal government will need steps case by circumstance considering the ground reality.
Dr Momen said although quantity of countries which developed the demand is few nonetheless it is a strain on the government as of this critical moment for your world because of coronavirus. "We're under pressure to some degree. All of the countries are under pressure," he told reporters.
Dr Momen hoped that Bangladesh will never be in big issues taking into consideration the relations that Bangladesh maintains with those countries and the methods being taken up to further fortify the relations with them.
He said the Foreign Minister of the Maldives had a good phone discussion with him conveying the situation about the undocumented Bangladeshi nationals.
The Maldives Foreign Minister highlighted the downfall of tourism business and closure of restaurants there and assured the Bangladesh Foreign Minister of taking well care of documented nationals.
The Maldives primarily urged the undocumented nationals to get registered. "We don't believe all will go back," he told reporters.
