Bangladesh Short and Documentary Film Festival
The eight-day Bangladesh Short and Documentary Film Festival 2018 will begin today in 64 districts simultaneously across the country. Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will inaugurate the festival at 5pm at the National Art Gallery auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, reported BSS.
An official from Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy told BSS on Thursday, that Shilpakala is organizing the entire festival. A five-member jury committee will review a total of 70 films this year, he added.
The committee selected 48 short films and 22 documentaries for screening in this year's festival.Of the selected films, "Best Film" will get Tk1 lakh, "Best Film-maker" will get Tk50,000, and "special jury award" will get Tk25,000 for both short films and documentary films. Announcement of the award recipients will be declared on the concluding day of the festival on December 15.
