Bangla SMS in English alphabet no more
Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) instructed the country’s mobile phone operators not to send Bangla messages in English alphabet.
Bangla SMS or mobile messages must be sent in Bangla letters to subscribers, said a BTRC notice.
Besides, it also ordered the mobile operators to stop sending commercial or promotional messages or interactive voice responses or IVRs to the subscribers between 12am and 6am, and in times of religious activities.
The regulator also directed the operators to inform the subscribers about the DND (Do Not Disturb) policy through SMS in the next 10 workdays.
