Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's arrested killer Capt (sacked) Abdul Mazed was first delivered to Dhaka Central Jail found in Keraniganj after he was first produced before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Handcuffed Mazed was created before the courtroom of CMM Zulfiqar Hayat in the Judge Court area in older Dhaka. The CMM purchased police to send him to jail. In the future, he was taken up to the Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj amid stringent reliability measures.

Earlier, at about 12:15pm, a workforce of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) of police produced arrested Mazed prior to the CMM court in Section 54 of CrPC amid stringent security methods. 

Producing him before the CMM court, the CTTC pleaded to hold Mazed in jail right up until he was shown arrested in Bangabandhu murder court case.

"Arrested Capt (sacked) Abdul Mazed is a good convicted killer found in Bangabandhu murder case. He was absconding for extended. We appeal to the court to keep carefully the convict in jail until he was displayed arrested in the event," explained the CTTC in its charm to the court.

Following the hearing, the court ordered to send Mazed to jail.

Earlier at about 3:30am, he was first arrested from a house at Mirpur found in the capital.

We've found him in Bangladesh,' said Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal. 'Perhaps, he came back from India staying afraid of coronavirus an infection,' he said.    

It is believed that arrested Capt (sacked) Abdul Mazed was hiding in India. Before, he was hiding in Benghazi, Libya, with another convicted killer Main Dalim.

After assuming power in 2009 2009, ruling Awami League government executed five convicted Bangabangdhu killers on January 27 this year 2010. They happen to be - Syed Faruk Rahman, Mohiuddin Ahmed, Bazlul Huda, AKM Mohiuddin Ahmed and Sultan Shahriar Rashid Khan.

However, five even more self-confessed killers--Khandaker Abdur Rashid, Shariful Haque Dalim, Noor Chowdhury, Rashed Chowdhury and Moslehuddin Khan--have even now remained at large.

The trial of Bangabandhu assassination case were only available in Dhaka in 1997, 22 years after a group of disgruntled army officers assassinated him along with most of his members of the family on August 15 in 1975.

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Courtroom on November 19, 2009 upheld the death penalty of 12 convicted ex-army officers for the assassination.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the then President, his wife, three sons - 1 nine years old - and the wives of two sons were gunned straight down by several disgruntled army officers. Two daughters of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman - Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana - survived the massacre as they were abroad in those days.
