Baby dies of dengue, father hospitalized
A two and a half years old girl died of dengue leaving her father infected with the same mosquito borne viral fever to mourn her death in Dhaka.
Khadija was shifted from Mugda Medical College Hospital to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where she was pronounced dead by physician around 3:45pm Wednesday (September 11).
Her father Ismail Hossain, from Nasir Uddin Road of Doniya, is admitted to the Mugda hospital with dengue infection.
The girl's uncle Ibrahim Hossain told Banglanews that Khadija was diagnosed with dengue at the Mugda hospital on September 8.
Afterwards, physicians released her and referred to DMCH as her neck started to swell.
The girl was referred to DMCH as her condition was deteriorating. She had to be taken to Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) but we don't have any, said Mugda Hospital Director Dr Amin Ahmed.
