At least 12 killed in floods in western Afghanistan
At least 12 persons were killed as heavy rains and flash floods hit elements of Afghanistan’s western province of Herat, the neighborhood federal government said on Tuesday.

“Flash floods engulfed great areas found in Adraskan district and neighboring districts found in Herat province on Mon,” it said in a good statement.

Among the dead were one girl and four children, according to an area government source.
The floods also destroyed tens of residential residences and orchards in the districts and caused closure of several district roads to traffic, the statement said.

The rescue personnel possess arrived in the damaged areas, and ratings of local households have up to now been evacuated to safe areas, according to the statement.

Heavy rains hit many areas in the country in recent weeks.
