Ankush urges all to visit cinema halls
While the news of theatres and multiplexes to remain shut in Maharashtra in October is a heartbreak for cine buffs, Tollywood is anxiously waiting for the Durga Puja box office. A string of much-awaited Bengali films are finally hitting the big screens during the Puja and it's a sigh of relief for the stakeholders in Tollywood.Ankush whose thriller 'FIR' is releasing this Puja is all excited and urging everyone to give a visit to cinema halls. He is also recovering from his right ankle fracture right now.

"It will be my fifth Puja release this year. So, I am happy and at the same time, a bit tensed since the pandemic is not over yet. I really want to see the audience returning to the halls like before. Frankly speaking, I don't have any huge expectations. People are now going out, enjoying their time at bars and pubs because they believe no alternatives are here. But for entertainment, people have so many options now and they still feel insecure to visit the halls.

But believe me we, the actors, filmmakers and everyone associated with the industry, eagerly want to see them thronging cinema halls yet again. Previously, we used to think if we can earn ten rupees, why not try and earn twelve rupees. However, now, the situation has changed, if we can earn only five rupees, we are happy that at least some amount is coming," explains the actor.

Ankush whose previous Puja releases like 'Villain', 'Bolo Dugga Maiki' and 'Zulfiqar' did well at the box office will be seen as a senior investigating officer from Lalbazar in Joydeep Mukherjee's 'FIR'. The film starts with a series of murders taking a toll on Raghunathpur village and its people. The village is dominated by local goons and MLAs. How Ankush's character sets an example among the corrupt officials and shows them the right path while solving the mystery is the crux of the story.
