'Amar Ganer Prante' in memory of Mahmudun Nabi
Bengal Foundation has released an audio album titled 'Amar Ganer Prante' featuring some selected songs from Mahmudun Nabi's numerous songs. Mahmudun Nabi's two daughters, celebrated sibling singers Fahmida Nabi and Samina Chowdhury, have lent their vocals to the album comprising of 10 tracks.  

National film award winning playback singer Mahmudun Nabi (1940-1990) began his career in the early 1960s. Nabi rendered many hit Urdu and Bangla songs including Tumi kokhon eshe dariye achho, Ami saat sagar pari diye, Premer naam bedona, Tumi je amar kobita, O meyer naam debo ki, Ganeri khatay swarolipi likhe, Hawa dheere behna and others. Singer Mahmudun Nabi was awarded the National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer for his performance in the film 'The Rain' (1976).

 Mahmudun Nabi touched the hearts of countless Bangla-speaking audiences by creating a new dimension in the arena of modern Bangla songs and playback songs. Even today, his everlasting creations fascinate the audiences of all classes. Two sisters rendered five songs each, while they have sung two duet songs in the album.
