Altabanu to be screened in Pyongyang Film Fest
Altabanu is going to screen in international film festival. One of the largest film festivals in Asia continent North Korea's 'Pyongyang Film Festival' is scheduled to be held from September 19 to 27. On September 23, Altabanu is scheduled to be screened during the festival. Director of the movie Arun Chowdhury confirmed the matter.
The story of the film revolves around "an elder sister going on a search to find her younger sister," Arun Chowdhury said at the event. The social insecurity of women and various social taboo and superstitions are also a big part of the film, he added. Earlier Altabanu was screened in two international film festivals. This will be third time.
The film, which has been produced by Impress Telefilm, is based on a story by Faridur Reza Sagar and casts Zakia Bari Mamo, Anisur Rahman Milon and Farzana Rikta in the central roles, along with a formidable support cast of Raisul Islam Asad, Dilara Zaman, Shamima Naznin, and Mamunur Rashid.
Director Arun Chowdhury said , "It is really delightful matter for me because it was my first directed movie. I believe this movie will be also appreciated by the audience of the festival."
Mamo shared her reaction by, "After acting in Altabanu, I got huge appreciation from all. It is really tale of a real story of someone's life. I am happy because this movie is going to be screened in Pyongyang Film Festival. I feel good now."
Altabanu was released on April 20 of this year. After uploaded this movie on Youtube on April 18 till now more than four lakh viewers enjoyed the movie. Meanwhile, Arun Chowdhury is going start to make his second movie soon.
