AL leader murdered in Bandarban
Miscreants slashed throat of an Awami League leader in Lama upazila of the district on Tuesday (July 23).
The incident happened at Hasnapara area under Sarai union of Lama upazila around 11 pm.
The deceased Alamgir Sikder, 38, was a former chairman of Sarai union.
According to locals, 12-15 terrorists, on motorbikes, attacked Alamgir on his way to the garden at night. Later, they slashed his throat and fled the spot. Following the incident, locals seized two motorbikes, but could not detain anyone involved in the incident.
“It cannot be said now who staged the murder. Police were dispatched to bring the body,” Appela Raju Naha, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Lama Police Station, told Banglanews.
