8 of a family group burnt in N'ganj fire
Eight members of a family group, including a girl, suffered burn injuries as a fire broke out their residence in Sahebapara area under Siddhirganj upazila of Narayanganj early Monday.
The victims' relative Ilyas said the fire spread out at the four rooms of the home at early hours soon after lit the gas stove, leaving the eight members injured.
Mohammad Shahjahan, senior station officer of Adamjee Fire Service and Civil Defence, said the rooms caught fire where gas accumulated as the gas burner remained open forever.
Injured Nurjahan Begum, 60, Kiron, 43, Hiron, 25, Hiron's wife Mukta, 20, and daughter Lima, 3, Abul Hossain, 22, Kawsar, 16 and Apon, 10, were admitted to the Burn Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
