5 ‘Neo-JMB’ men held in Sylhet over Paltan bomb blast
Five productive members of Neo-JMB, an ultra-radical offshoot of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), have already been arrested from Sylhet on connection withthe Paltan bomb blast.
Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) product of Dhaka Metropolitan Law enforcement (DMP) arrested them on Monday nighttime, Md Walid Hossain, deputy commissioner (DC) of DMP’s pr and mass media wing, confirmed it.
The arrested are being taken to the capital, he said. However, the identities of these cannot be known immediately.
The incident of the bomb blast took place in city’s Paltan area around 9.45pm on July 24, just 200 yards away from a police check
post. But none was harmed in the incident.
