3 NSTU students expelled from dormitory for hemp abuse
Three female students of Noakhali Science and Technology University have been expelled from a dormitory for hemp addiction.
The expelled are resident students Bibi Khadiza Hall and students of the Department of Business Administration of 2015-16 session, of Economics of 2016-17session, and of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology 2017-18 session, respectively.
One of them was also fined Tk 1,000 for staying at the dormitoyry without permission of the cauthorotus conecerned
The Bibi Khadiza Hall authorities issued a notice in this regard on Wednesday.
The hall provost Dr Md Atikur Rahman said a probe committee was formed as the general students of the dormitory brought the allegation against the three of abusing hemp on November 15.
The probe committee found the authenticity of the allegation and gave made recommendations in this regard.
Later, the authorities took the decision at an emergency meeting on November 27 reviewing the recommendations of the probe committee to maintain discipline and good environment of the university.
