21 killed in lightning strikes per day
Twenty-one people have already been killed on lightning strikes in the united states. Of them, four persons had been killed in Chattogram, five in Sirajganj, two each in Feni, Patuakhali, Satkhira; and one each in Madaripur, Noakhali, Munshiganj, Manikganj, Barisal and Chuadanga.

The incidents took place on Sunday from 9.00am to 6.00pm.

In Chattogram, two persons were killed in lightning strikes at Mirsarai and Boalkhali while several women were killed in a lightning strike while employed in a field in Fatikchhari. The incidents occurred from 9.00 am to 10:30 am.

The deceased were discovered as Mostafa Kamal’s son Md. Jahangir, 39, Sajjad Hossain, 18, a resident of Mirsarai, Vanumati Shil, 40, wife of Yogendra Shil, and Lucky Rani Das, 38, wife of Baneshwar Das.

In Sirajganj, five persons, including a schoolboy, were killed in lightning strikes within an hour. The incident occurred from 4pm to 5pm in Bangala and Udhunia areas of Ullapara upazila, Kayempur and Narina unions of Shahjadpur upazila and Belkuchi upazila.

The deceased were recognized as Abdullah, 26, son of Amanat Hossain of Shahjadpur upazila, Baburchi, 50, of Batia village in Narina union, Rafiqul Islam, 45, of Angaru Baghmara village in Salanga union, Faridul Islam, 15, and Laili Begum of Char Sameshpur village in Belkuchi upazila.

In Feni, two kids were killed in a lightning strike in Sonagazi upazila. The incident occurred at Alampur village of Bagadana union of the upazila at 11am.

The deceased were determined as Sajeda Akhter, 12, and Al Amin, 6.

In Patuakhali, two persons were killed in lightning strikes in Patuakhali Sadar and Mirzaganj upazilas. Abdul Jalil of Paschim Tarabunia village of Majidbaria union of Mirzaganj and Majid Hawlader of Marichbunia village of Sadar upazila died in lightning strikes in the afternoon.

In Satkhira, two people were killed in a lightning strike in Satkhira Sadar and Tala upazila in the afternoon. Three more persons were injured at the time.

The deceased have been determined as Kishore Mandal, 38, son of Ashutosh Mandal of Harinkhola village and Rabeya Khatun, 20, child of Bazlur Rahman of Chaubaria village.

In Madaripur, a female named Ayesha Begum, 50, was killed in a lightning strike while picking nuts at Shibchar upazila in the district. The incident took place at 4 pm in Balurteke area in the upazila.

Officer-in-demand of Shibchar Police Station Miraj Hossain confirmed the problem.

The deceased was discovered as Ayesha, wife of Chorfan Hawladar of the same area.

In Noakhali, a farmer named Abdul Mannan Khokon, 38, was killed in lightning strike while employed in the discipline in Hatia.

The incident occurred at 3:30 pm in Purba Maischara village in the upazila.

Deceased Khokon was the son of late Syed Ahmad Munshi on the village.

In Munshiganj, a school scholar named Apurba Barman, 19, was killed in lightning strike while using football in the torrential rain in Sirajdikhan upazila.

The incident occurred at Shekhar Nagar ground of the upazila at 4 pm.

In Manikganj, a college college student named Mohammad Shaheen Hossain, 18, was killed in lightning strike ain Ghior upazila. The incident occurred in Balot section of the upazila around 5:30 pm.

The deceased was recognized as Shahin Hossain, son of Muktar Hossain of Ghior Sadar Union.

Officer-in-demand of Ghior Police Station Mohammad Riaz Uddin Ahmed Biplob confirmed the matter.

In Barishal, a man named Nantu Bali, 30, was killed in lightning strike at Uttar Satla village of in Uzirpur upazila in the afternoon. He is the child of Yunus Bali of the region.

In Chuadanga, a farmer named Korban Ali, 40, was killed in lightning strike at Ruithanpur village in Alamdanga upazila around 5:30 pm.

He is the son lately Fakir Ali of Ruithanpur village found in the upazila.
