21 artistes receive Channel-i music awards
Twenty one singers, composers, lyricists, sound technicians and music video makers received Channel-i Music Awards 2018 on Friday at hotel The Palace in Habiganj.

Eminent singer Subir Nandi received the lifetime achievement award for his contributions to the music industry.Besides, 14 artistes received awards in 13 Critics' Award categories, while six artistes received awards in the newly-introduced Golden Voice Awards category for enriching the music industry for over two decades.

'I was born in Habiganj. Today, I feel very happy and proud that Channel-i has honored me in my birthplace', said Subir Nandi after receiving the award. Recipients of the Critics' Awards are Bithi Pandey (Tagore songs), Chhonda Chakrabarty (Nazrul songs), Sagor Baul (folk songs), Asif Iqbal (lyricist), Autumnal Moon (music director), Chandan Roy Chowdhury (music video), Masum Billah (cover design), SI Sumon (sound engineer), Sithi Saha and Chandan Sinha (contemporary songs), Aranya (music band), Romana Akhter Iti (newcomer), Chirkut (playback) and flutist Gazi Abdul Hakim (instrument). 

The Golden Voice Awards recipients are Rezwana Choudhury Bannya (Tagore songs), Ferdaus Ara (Nazrul songs), Mumtaz (traditional music), Samina Chowdhury (playback), Kumar Bishwajit (contemporary music), director Afzal Hossain (golden maker).

Eminent artistes like Ferdausi Rahman, Sheikh Sadi Khan, Syed Abdul Hadi, Abdur Rashid Majumdar, Farida Parvin, Sitara Zebin, Nasiruddin Yousuff, Gazi Mazharul Anwar and others handed over the awards among the recipients. The award-giving program also featured performances by eminent artistes like Kiran Chandra Roy, Mitali Mukherjee, Chandana Majumder, Tapan Mahmud, Shimul Yousuf, Fahmida Nabi, Anima Roy, Meherin and others.
