Nationalist communal unity won't be acceptable, says Obaidul
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said none can defeat Awami League if the party men remain united during the next general election.

"Awami League is a popular party. No unity can be or will be formed  without it. A unity has been formed which is nationalist communal unity. There is no acceptability of such unity in Bangladesh," he said at a rally at Shikalbaha in Chattogram city on Sunday.

The rally was organised as part of a roadshow of the ruling party ahead of the national elections. 

Obaidul Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said they have formed unity among leaders."Thirty leaders from 30 parties formed the unity. People won't respond to their call."

Presided over by Karnaphuli thana AL president, the rally was also addressed, among others, by party's joint general secretary Mahbub Ul Hanif, organising secretary AKM Enamul Haque Shamim and state minister for land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury.

AL Presidium member Abdul Matin Khasru, publicity and publication secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud and organising secretary Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nawfel were also present.
