Youth killed in Meghna launch collision
A young man was killed and five others injured as their launch was hit by another launch in the Meghna river in Mehendiganj upazila of Barishal early Sunday (Jan 6).
The deceased was identified as Shakib Paloan, 20, son of one Razzak Paloan in Sreepur union in Mehendiganj.
The deceased worked as a tailor in Keraniganj of Dhaka.
Sources said Dhaka bound MV Sundarban-6 hit MV Adventure-9 around 1:30am, leaving several injured.
Of them, Shakib was taken to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital where he was pronounced dead by the physicians.
Barishal Naval Police Station Assistant Deputy Inspector (ASI) Md Kabir confirmed the matter to Media.
