Youth held with Yaba at Dhaka airport
Members of Airport Armed Police Battalion (APBn) detained a young man alongwithwith Yaba at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Friday night.
Detainee Milton Bhuiyan, 22, is a resident of Korihata village in Kapasia upazila of Gazipur.
Milton was roaming around in the parking area near the departure terminal around 7:00 pm.
On suspicion, the APBn patrol team searched him and recovered 1440 Yaba tablets worth about Tk 7.5 lakh from his possession, said Alamgir Hossain, additional superintendent of the APBn (Operations and Media).
In primary interrogation, Milton said one Sajon and his wife Ruma gave him the Yaba at a hotel in Laboni Sea Beach area of Cox's Bazar.
He brought the tablets from Cox’s Bazar on a flight of Novoair in exchange of 50 Yaba, said ASP Alamgir.
According to the agreement, he was supposed to deliver the Yaba at a hotel in Gazipur Chowrasta area, the APBn official added.
However, a case was filed against Milton with Airport Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act.
