War Museum Trustee Sarwar, his family come under attack
Liberation War Museum Trustee Dr Sarwar Ali and his family came under attack by armed miscreants at his Uttara residence in Dhaka on Sunday night.
Police sources said two unidentified miscreants entered his daughter's house on the second floor of a building in Uttora Sector No 7 around 10pm and tried to kill her and her husband by stabbing them.
Then, the criminals went to the third floor where Sarwar Ali is living with his wife Dr Makhduma Nargis and also stabbed the couple.
Hearing cry for help, two of their neighbours rushed in and the criminals managed to flee the scene.
Sarwar Ali said, "The miscreants tried to kill me and my wife just after opened the door. My daughter called '999' for help. Getting phone call, a police team came to our house within three or four minutes. We suspect security guard Hasan has the link with the miscreants."
Police seized Hasan's mobile phone set where the law enforcers found the record of at least 30 calls on the day of the attack.
Sarwar Ali lodged a case with Uttora West Police Station on Monday accusing some unknown persons, including the building security guard Hasan and their former driver Nazmul.
